The Comisión Nacional de Investigación Científica y Tecnológica, hereafter referred to as "CONICYT", represented by Mr. Enrique d'Etigny Lyon, President, and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, hereafter referres to as "JSPS", represented by Mr. Hitoshi Osaki, Director General, both entities hereafter referred to as "the agencies".

1. To establish an exchange program whereby scientists in Chilean and Japanese universities, laboratories, and research centers shall have an opportunity to cooperate in the performance of scientific and tecnological investigation.
2. To exchange scientific information, publications and other scpecialized technical and scientific documents.
3. To create, develop and implement, as deamed necessary and appropriate,any other mutually advantageous instruments of scientific and technological cooperation.
