The New Zealand Ministry of Research Science and Technology (MoRST) and the Chilean National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research (CONICYT) hereafter referred to as "the participants" have decided to conclude an Arrangement to encourage closer scientific, research and technological cooperation between the two countries.

The nature of scientific, research and technological cooperation between the participants includes, but is not limited to:

• Exchange of scientists, researchers, and tecnical experts.
• Exchange of information and documentation.
• Interaction among institutions, enterprise and academic organisations.
• Promotion of public/private sector partnerships in support of the development of innovative products and services.
• Cooperation in bilateral, regional and other governmental and non-governmental fora in areas of mutual interest.
