Alta Scuola Politecnica (ASP). -an inter-university association of Italy’s historical Technical Universities founded by Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Torino and the Chilean National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research (CONICYT) hereafter referred to as ‘the participants” have decided to conclude an arrangement to encourage closer scientific, research, educational and technological cooperation between the two countries.

This Arrangement consists of the following provisions:

  • Scientific, research, educational and technological cooperation between the participants will be encouraged in compliance with their respective laws and regulations and the requirements of their scientific institutional structures.
  • Cooperation between the participants will be directed towards sectors where mutual and complementary interests exist, namely in the technological and scientific aspects of sciences and engineering. This arrangement covers both the participants’ activities and the ones of their mother-institutions.
  • The participants will ensure the equitable and fair apportionment of any intellectual property rights developed from joint projects under this arrangement.
  • The nature of scientific, research, educational, and technological cooperation between the participants includes, but is not limited to:
  • exchange of scientists, researchers, and technical experts
  • higher education at master and PhD level supported by grants. It could be also possible a Double Degree programme or “cotutela” Doctorate with Chilean university
  • exchange of information and documentation
  • interaction among institutions, enterprises and academic organisations
  • promotion of public/private sector partnerships in support of the development of innovative products and services
  • cooperation in bilateral, regional and other governmental and nongovernmental fora in areas of mutual interest.
