Inserting National Competition Advanced Human Capital Productive Sector – 2013

The Contest "Inserting advanced human capital in the Chilean productive sector", is intended to stimulate the employment of new researchers and innovation managers with a high level of expertise that form each year in the country and abroad. The inclusion of these professionals in companies and technology centers is aimed at promoting the implementation of research projects, Development and Innovation (I D i) into the productive sector, thus strengthening the capacities of the sector, and closer to the world of research.

The main objectives:

  • Strengthening capacities in R & D within the Chilean productive sector, promoting linkages between this sector and academia.
  • Promote and enhance the performance of R D i and ventures into the Chilean productive sector, that contribute to social and economic development of the country.
  • Promote the employment of new / as researchers / as with high level of expertise in R D i.

Disciplines involved: All Disciplines.

For this contest, scientific-technological companies and may act as "entity applicant" for development projects Insertion, which can last two to three years with funding from CONICYT.

Be possible to follow two lines of insertion: Research Linkages, in which is inserted one or two investigators (Section III of the bases) Scientific Management and Integration, in which you insert a manager (Section IV of the basis).

Insertion For Research proposals the company must insert one / year two doctors / as and the project will be for a period of two to three years. However, those companies and technology centers that do not have a clearly defined research project, may apply for a Binding Preview, which lasts until 4 months.

For proposals Scientific Management Integration, the company must insert a / a manager / ay the proposal will be for a period of two years.

Benefits:

Insertion CONICYT fund one or two researcher / s (Research Linkages) or scientific manager (Science Management Integration) in a company or technology center, to develop an R D i. For this, be given three types of benefits:

  • Fees CONICYT grant will co-finance the fees / the researchers / as. The grant will correspond to a 80%, 50% and 30% of income to be received by each researcher / a in the first, second and third year respectively. Income may vary within the range of between $18.000.000 and $27.000.000 annual. The income / Principal Investigator / a may be greater than indicated, in which case, CONICYT financing will reference the ceiling of this range ($27.000.000). To co-finance managers CONICYT fees / the manager / a. The grant will correspond to a 80% and 50% of income to be received by each manager / a during the first and second year respectively.
  • Operational expenses: be given a maximum of $3.000.000 annual operating expenses involving the development of the project and the fulfillment of its objectives, by researcher.
  • Events and technical meetings: be given a maximum of $2.000.000 per researcher / a for attending technical events related to the project, along the length thereof. In the case of monkey managers will $2.200.000.

Linking To Preview mode, the company will access only the subsidy for fees from / to the researcher / a. For partial days, CONICYT assigned a proportional funding amounts indicated in these rules.

Also, Linkages for Research projects may be financed inserting a / a doctoral thesis student in the company, for which there is a fund of up $12.000.000 annual.

The beneficiary organizations may Chilean companies, foreign companies based in the country duly accredited for economic activities in country, national technology centers that wish to conduct research and / or technological development and / or strengthening a line of R & D existing.
