Scholarship for Master's Studies in Chile, Academic Year 2011

The National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research, CONICYT, launches tender for the purpose of granting scholarships to begin or continue studies leading to the award of the academic degree of Master in Chilean universities, within programs that are accredited or in the process of accreditation by the National Accrediting Commission of Chile (CNA Chile).

The purpose of these grants is to develop advanced human capital in all areas of knowledge and contribute to the scientific, academic, economic, social and cultural development.

Are excluded from this contest, all master's programs related to Business areas, Finance and Marketing.

The university and the master's program are free choice of each applicant, and may be elected in any city in the country.

Duration:

The scholarships are given on an annual basis, up to a maximum period of two years from the date of entry of the / the grantee / a master's program. To continue research fellows, benefits will accrue from the date of award. In case of students who begin studies, benefits will accrue from the date of commencement of the program, long as it is after the date of award. This term does not include extension.

Benefits:

  • Maximum annual allocation $5.712.000, for handling concept, delivered in monthly installments of up to $476.000.
  • Assigning a maximum annual $1.000.000, used to pay the annual fee.
  • Monthly allowance for each child / a child under 18 years old, equivalent to 5% the maintenance of the / the grantee / a.
  • Monthly allowance in respect of health coverage for a maximum monthly $33.000.
  • Permit for pre and post natal fellows who request, for a maximum period of four months with payment of scholarship funded by CONICYT.

Chilean / as or foreigners with permanent residency in Chile, comply with the following requirements:

  • Being in possession of academic degree of Bachelor / a (in runs of at least eight semesters) and / or Professional Degree (in runs of at least ten semesters), or be in the process of completion of undergraduate studies and / or professional qualification in Chile, at the closing of the application period for the contest.
  • Found in the application process, be accepted / to be student / regular a magíster program accredited in the process of accreditation by the CNA-Chile, in some Chilean university.

Open application period and publication of rules and forms: Thursday 25 November 2010.

Close application period:

  • Online applications: Thursday 16 December 2010 to 14:00 hrs. (Chilean continental time).
  • Nomination paper: Friday 10 December 2010. The delivery should be performed by the Office of CONICYT, located in Bernarda Morin 551, Providence, Santiago.
  • For the case of paper applications from regions other than the Metropolitan and sent via postal mail, the final date for submission of records will appear in the printed stamp, which should not exceed Friday 10 December of the year 2010. The shipment must be made to the Office of CONICYT, located in Bernarda Morin 551, Providence, Santiago.
