Application Period Extension

Applicants are advised PhD Fellowship ABROAD, SCHOLARSHIPS CHILE, CALL 2013, that has extended the application period until this Thursday 18 April at 14.00 hours.

 

The National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research (CONICYT) launches tender to award scholarships, hereinafter referred doctoral scholarships ABROAD, SCHOLARSHIPS CHILE, CALL 2013- Chileans / as foreign and / as with permanent residency in Chile, to start or continue studies leading to the award of the academic degree of Doctor of institutions of excellence abroad.

This scholarship aims to build human capital advanced in all areas of knowledge, without exception and in any country except Chile, for graduates, on his return to Chile, apply the acquired knowledge and contributing to the scientific, academic, economic, social and cultural development.

Duration:

The PhD scholarship may be granted for a maximum period of four years. In those cases where the / the grantee / to be the quality of student / regulate a doctoral program, the scholarship will be awarded only for the remaining time to complete the four years, counted from admission to the curriculum.

The benefits of the scholarship will be valid until the month following the date of degree examination or equivalent body, provided that the total period not exceeding four years from the beginning to the curriculum.

When the Doctorate program contains a requirement for a prior Masters within the same, must apply directly to the PhD scholarship and must specify the situation in the Letter of Acceptance from the university. Without prejudice to the foregoing, the sum of the benefits delivery periods between Master and Doctoral program, not exceed 4 years from the date of entry of / the applicant to the first program.

For leveling language authorized, the period used shall not be considered for calculating the period of duration of the PhD program.

  • 100% cost of tuition fees and the doctoral program.
  • Allocation of installer for only $ 500 (five hundred dollars), for those Fellows who begin doctoral studies.
  • Annual allocation for purchase of books and / or materials of $ 300 (three hundred dollars).
  • Annual premium for health insurance / the grantee / a for a maximum amount of $ 800 (eight hundred U.S. dollars).
  • Assignment for monthly maintenance / the grantee / a for the doctoral program, as cost of living in the destination country (see Annex II amounts of bases).
  • Assignment for monthly maintenance / spousal, by the time he / the grantee / to declare your company, as cost of living in the destination country (see Annex II amounts of bases).

The scholarship targets Chilean / as foreign and / as with permanent residency in Chile, which have the following requirements.

  • Possess the degree of Bachelor / a (when it comes to racing with a duration of at least eight semesters) and / or Professional Degree (when it comes to racing with a duration of ten semesters or more).
  • Possess academic excellence, crediting at least one of the following requirements:
    • Have obtained a final average ratings less than five (5.0) on a seven (7.0) or equivalent, to obtain a Bachelor and / or Professional Degree;
    • Be within the 30% top of his class of undergraduate degree or graduation.
  • Be accepted / ao be student / regulate in any of the programs listed in paragraph 4.2 insolvency bases.
  • Continue or begin doctoral studies at the dates stated in the terms and according to the information at the time of application.

  • Opening of application period and publication of bases: Tuesday 29 January 2013.
  • Closing paper filing period: Tuesday 5 March 2013, 14:00 hrs. (Chilean continental time). The nomination dossier with letters of recommendation in the nominations made paper, must be submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to the Human Capital Development Program Advanced, through the Office of CONICYT, located in Bernarda Morin N ° 551 – Providence, Santiago.
