Doctorate Scholarships Abroad Bilateral Agreement CONICYT-DAAD – Call 2014

The National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research (CONICYT), under the agreement Advanced Human Capital signed between this entity and the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD-, call-contest to award scholarships hereinafter referred DOCTORAL SCHOLARSHIPS WITH BILATERAL AGREEMENT ABROAD. CONICYT-DAAD, CALL 2014- Chilean / as to initiate studies leading to the award of the degree of Doctor of universities and research centers of excellence in Germany.

This scholarship is intended to form advanced human capital, for graduates, on his return to Chile, apply the acquired knowledge and contributing to the scientific, academic, economic, social and cultural development.

  • A round-trip ticket, economy class, from the nearest city of residence of the / the scholar / a to the city where the study program starts in Germany airport.
  • Tuition fees and costs of the doctoral program, applicable.
  • Allocation of installer for only $ 500 (five hundred dollars), for those Fellows who begin doctoral studies.
  • Annual allocation for purchase of books and / or materials of $ 300 (three hundred dollars).
  • Annual premium for health insurance / the grantee / a for a maximum amount of $ 800 (eight hundred U.S. dollars).
  • Assignment for monthly maintenance / the grantee / a for the doctoral program, as cost of living for Germany (see amounts in Annex I of the bases).
  • Assigning monthly support for the / the spouse and each child / a child under 18 years old, by the time he / the grantee / to declare your company, as cost of living for Germany (see amounts in Annex I of the bases).
  • Extension of the monthly maintenance allowance fellows with pre and post natal up to four months in total.
  • Assigning back only for U.S. $ 500 (five hundred dollars).

  • Health Insurance, accidents and damages to third parties for the / the scholar / a.
  • German course for the / the scholar / a (from 2 up 6 months), plus the costs of accommodation according to the current regulations of the DAAD.

  • Health Insurance, accidents and damages to third parties for the / the scholar / a, for / spouse and each child / a.
  • German course for spouse and / (up to 1500 euros).
  • Annual allowance for expenses related to studies and research in accordance with the current regulations of the DAAD.
  • Monthly contribution for the / the scholar / a of 100 euros.
  • Monthly contribution for / the spouse 180 euros.
  • Monthly contribution for each child / to the / the scholar / a of 100 euros.
  • A trip to Chile during the four-year scholarship to the / the scholar / a (up 1550 euros).
  • Printing costs doctoral thesis, if it is published in Germany. (Amount according to current regulations of the DAAD).

  • Ser chileno / a.
  • Possess the academic degree of doctor / a racing for at least 8 semesters, career or professional degree at least 10 semesters or its equivalent in the case of undergraduate studies conducted abroad.
  • Owning accrediting academic excellence, at least, one of the following requirements:

– Have obtained a final average ratings less than five (5.0) on a seven (7.0) or equivalent, to obtain a Bachelor and / or professional degree, or
– Be within the 30% top of his class of undergraduate degree or graduation.

  • Be accepted to begin doctoral studies at a university or research center of excellence in Germany at the time of application to the DAAD, which shall be certified according to what is stated in paragraph 4.3.

  • Opening of application period and publication of bases: 22 April 2014.
  • Close of filing period: Thursday 22 May 2014, 13:00 hrs. (Chilean continental time).
  • Consultations via platform OIRS: until Thursday 15 May 2014, to 14:00 hours (Chilean continental time).
