The Network of Chilean researchers in Germany (Red INVECA), officially founded in November 2012, understands itself as a platform to enhance the interaction among Chilean researchers from different fields settled in Germany, and seeks to facilitate the development of research projects and initiatives between Chile and Germany.

After the founding meeting, the organisers, with the support of the Embassy of Chile in Berlin, have been working to introduce Red INVECA to different scientific organisations and authorities in Chile and Germany, bringing together members of the network for discussions, reaching new participants, spreading relevant information through social media, constructing a web site for a more effective communication and interaction among the network members and organising a new meeting.

The Second Meeting of Red INVECA, „Research networks: promoting links between Chile and Germany” will be held on October 25th in Heidelberg, sponsored by the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and, and kindly hosted by the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg.

With the support of the Chilean National Commission of Science and Technology (CONICYT) the laureate Chilean scientist Dr. Fernando Lolas will be invited as key note speaker. Representatives of the Fraunhofer Society, CONICYT and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) will also be participating as speakers in the meeting.

An important part of the meeting will be devoted to discuss the work of INVECA and its next challenges in the context of science and networking. Your participation and active discussion are very important; we look forward to see you in Heidelberg in October!
