National Competition “Graduate Thesis Industry”. Call 2011

The “Graduate Thesis Competition in the Industry” It is framed in line insertion researchers / as in the Chilean productive sector, which aims to strengthen research capacity and innovation of technology companies and entities related to the productive sector.

Through this contest -start financial support for completion and then delivered- graduate thesis (preferably Ph.D.) providing for the realization of R D i that relate directly to the requirements of study program / the student / s and the needs of the company involved.

Objectives

  • Encourage productive entities that undertake R & D processes i.
  • Support the professional development of researchers / as young.
  • Strengthen the link between academia and the productive sector.

The graduate thesis project in industry must be submitted by an academic institution ( applicant institution), associated with a company or institution linked to the productive sector (sponsoring entity). It will be mandatory to have a responsible guardian of the applicant institution and a technical counterpart of the sponsoring entity which postulates. Projects can be done individually or in groups of up to two (2) student(s) Chilean(s)/a(s)/ or foreign(s)/a(s) with permanent residence in Chile.

Benefits:

  • The / The student who made his thesis within this application, entitled to payment of fees for a maximum gross annual amount of $6.000.000. (six million pesos).
  • CONICYT fund a maximum of $ 3.000.000.- (three million pesos) annually for operating expenses for each thesis project, which include costs such as: consumables, equipment and / or adequacy of laboratory, bibliography, costs and subcontracts laboratories, diffusion, attendance at technical events, payment of financial costs of guarantees, inter alia.
  • Contribution to $1.000.000.- (one million pesos) per student for attendance of the / the thesis student at a technical event, either seminar, congress, internship, or other CONICYT considered justified.
