National Competition “Graduate Thesis Industry”. Second Call 2011

The National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research (CONICYT), through it and Attraction Program Insertion of Advanced Human Capital (FATHER), launches tender for universities and national companies, and a doctoral thesis students, for providing financing for the implementation of thesis projects that are developed under the wing of a company.

 

Through Competition “Graduate Thesis Industry” Financial support will be given for completion -start, continuation or completion of a doctoral thesis in order to:

  • Encouraging entities that undertake productive processes of R D I.
  • Support the professional development of researchers / as young.
  • Strengthen the link between academia and the productive sector

The / The student who made his thesis within this application, and which does not benefit / a of a grant from the Government of Chile that includes maintenance, entitled to payment of fees for a maximum gross annual amount of $6.000.000 (six million pesos).

 

Also, CONICYT fund a maximum of $ 3.000.000.- (three million pesos) annual operating expenses, which include costs like: consumables, equipment and / or adequacy of laboratory, bibliography, costs and subcontracts laboratories, diffusion, attendance at technical events, payment of financial costs of guarantees, inter alia.

 

It includes an annual contribution to $ 1.500.000 (one million five hundred thousand dollars) for the assistance / tesista an event the technical, either seminar, congress, internship, or other CONICYT considered justified.

The graduate thesis project in industry must be submitted by an academic institution ( applicant institution), associated with a company or institution linked to the productive sector (sponsoring entity). Projects by a Chilean or foreign student with permanent residence must be made in Chile, and who are doing their doctoral thesis in a national or foreign academic institution.

Benefits:

  • The / The student who made his thesis within this application, entitled to payment of fees for a maximum gross annual amount of $6.000.000. (six million pesos). Should students with a scholarship that includes maintenance, they can not access this benefit.
  • CONICYT fund a maximum of $ 3.000.000.- (three million pesos) annually for operating expenses for each thesis project, which include costs such as: consumables, equipment and / or adequacy of laboratory, bibliography, costs and subcontracts laboratories, diffusion, attendance at technical events, payment of financial costs of guarantees, inter alia.
