National Doctoral Thesis Prize in Business, Third Call 2014

Objectives of the Contest:

• Strengthen the link between accredited doctoral programs and companies, thereby aligning the expectations and interests of academia and the productive sector.

• Encourage institutions to undertake productive processes of R D i.

• Enhancing scientific development of young doctors and encourage them to approach the Productive Sector.

Benefits:

1. Fee: those / as doctoral students who are not beneficiaries / as a grant from the Government of Chile that includes maintenance, shall be entitled to payment of a monthly fee for gross $750.000. The sponsoring entity may supplement this remuneration, work product developed by the / the tesista.

In case of tesistas beneficiaries / as a grant from the Government of Chile that includes maintenance, shall retain the benefits of their scholarship and may additionally obtain funding for Expenses and Assistance Events, plus a Bonus Insertion in Business (BIE) of $173.200 Monthly.

 

2. Operational expenses: / as postgraduate students may apply up to $3.000.000 annual operating expenses, These may include the following nature expenses: laboratory supplies, computer inputs, purchasing books, magazines and subscriptions, Registration for conference, purchase of services, office supplies and resources for field, minor equipment, laboratory subcontracts, diffusion, expense payment guarantees, inter alia, which shall be rendered in accordance with the procedures set forth in the instructions to surrender. For concepts of overhead, university / program may use up to 10% This item.

 

3. Attendance at events: This item includes the following sub-items:

• Flights: subsidy (reitemizable) up $1.000.000 passages for assistance / the tesista seminars, Congress, internships, or others deemed justified CONICYT, both in Chile and abroad. If thesis projects covering two years of funding, you can join this annual fund to finance overseas stays above the 7 days, previously approved by CONICYT. To make use of these resources, the / the thesis student must submit the history of travel in time, supported by your tutor / a, CONICYT so can rule on its relevance prior to the development of this.

• Expenses: subsidy (reitemizable) up $400.000 per diem for attendance / tesista of seminars, Congress, internships, or others deemed justified CONICYT, both in Chile and abroad.

• Health insurance: subsidy (reitemizable) up $100.000 for health insurance, if attending seminars, Congress, internships, or others deemed justified CONICYT, abroad.

Institutions presenting proposals must be Chilean universities with doctoral programs accredited CNA-Chile (of 3 years or older to sign the agreement with Conicyt). If shared by more than one institution programs, a university must take the application and commitment.

This call will be open from December 2013 and September 2014. However, Proposals will be evaluated according to the following frequency:
