Chilean-German Cooperation on Raw Materials of Strategic Economic Importance.

On September 23rd in CONCIYT, a half-day workshop will be held featuring a delegation of German experts and renowned representatives of German Universities and Research Centres related to the minerals and metals mining and recycling sector. The objective of this networking platform will be to identify opportunities for German-Chilean R+D Projects concerning the value added chain for raw materials of strategic economic importance. The thematic areas are from exploration, mining, processing of prime material to recycling of secondary raw material of strategic economic importance.

The Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany (BMBF) and CONICYT, the official organizers of the workshop, will open the event.  Then the German delegation will hold brief presentations regarding their principal research topics and interests for cooperation. Following the presentations there will be the possibility of individual meetings with the German delegation members in the context of a Match-Making Programme. The main idea is to support and expand the networking between German and Chilean mining research community through bilateral discussions and contact with representatives of politics, science and business.

  • The deadline for registration is 17th September 2015 and participation will be limited to a select number of spaces.
  • Workshop participation is free of charge. Travel expenses of participants from outside Santiago cannot be covered.
  • The workshop and the meetings will be held in English
