The selected projects will be supported by CONICYT and Evaluation Committee and Orientation of Scientific Cooperation with the Government of France Chile (ECOS) to develop exchange projects.
Total 18 new projects to be funded for a period of three years were selected at the annual meeting of the Ecos-CONICYT Programme held in Paris, France, the 19 and 20 November 2013. The selected projects were the following research areas: 3 in Life Sciences, 6 Exact Sciences, 3 Humanities and Social Sciences, 3 Health Sciences and 3 Sciences of the Universe.
During the annual meeting of the Ecos-CONICYT Programme plus the final reports of the projects of the call were analyzed 2009 adjudging a rating and were awarded joint, al report on the basis of scientific progress, new benefits for projects that will attend the second and third year of activities. Similarly, agreements on the content and forms the basis for the next were taken called 2014.
Background:
The Ecos-Conicyt program is intended to support projects of excellence in scientific collaboration, regardless of their area of knowledge, by financing exchanges among researchers through short-term missions, stays improvement and PhD scholarships. His method is based on two fundamental principles: peer cooperation and transparency.
CONICYT is the counterpart in Chile Echoes-South Committee. For these purposes CONICYT National Committee has created a program Chilean counterpart. The committee conducts the evaluation of the actions undertaken jointly with Ecos-South.
Peer cooperation established between research teams in Chile and France, makers together a science project in which the intellectual input of both parties must be equivalent. Both institutions, Echoes-South Committee and CONICYT are responsible for making public the bidding, appoint external assessors, select and fund them together and finally evaluation of scientific reports of ongoing projects and end provided by the researchers responsible.
