The Board and the General Assembly of the Ibero-American Science and Technology for Development (CYTED) met in Mexico City 25 and 26 November with the participation of representatives of the institutions of science, technology and innovation of the signatory countries, among them, CONICYT.
Among the major agreements were approved 14 new Thematic Networks selected in the call 2014. The networks were selected from a total of 114 Applications.
Thematic Networks are aimed knowledge sharing between research groups and enhancing cooperation as a working method, in a particular scientific or technological topic, order to enhance their visibility in the region Iberoamericana.
Another of the agreements was the passage of lines CYTED call 2015 Thematic Networks in the areas of food and agriculture, health, promotion of industrial development, sustainable development, global change and ecosystems, information technology and communications, Science and Society, and energy. It was also agreed to include again in convening a special line Incubator Iberoamericana technology companies. The CYTED call 2015 Thematic Networks will be open between the 20 February and 30 April 2015.
For the period 2016 - 2018 the General Assembly elected as Secretary General Alberto Majó, of Uruguay. Also, for the period 2015 - 2016, elected the Area Managers.
CYTED member bodies will meet again in Santiago de Chile in November 2015.
