In order to reaffirm the links between CONICYT and Chinese Academy of Sciences, CAS, authorities of both institutions held a meeting in which the possibilities of strengthening scientific exchange programs explored, through new collaborative actions.
In representation of CONICYT participated Dr. Mario Hamuy, chairman, y Christian Nicolai, Executive Director; with Vice President of CAS, doctor Tieniu Tan, who discussed the possibility of organizing new activities that strengthen working relations and cooperation between the two institutions.
An example of joint work that has been carried out in recent years is the Competition CHINA-CONICYT Fund, which it takes place under the Memorandum of Understanding on Scientific Cooperation for development of Astronomy, and it has made two calls, in 2013 and 2015, Postdoctoral positions adjudging young researchers. Its main objective is to strengthen cooperation in astronomy between Chile and China, through the inclusion of young researchers with Ph.D., by conducting research projects in Chilean institutions, with the possibility of continuing in China.
Agreements with Australian universities
