Descripción: El Centro de Análisis y Modelamiento de la Seguridad, CEAMOS, invitó al experto brasileño Renato Assunçao, Profesor Titular de Estadística y miembro del Centro de Estudios de Criminalidade e Segurança Pública (CRISP) de la Universidad Federal de Minas Gerais (Belo Horizonte, Brasil), a realizar la charla sobre Métodos Cuantitativos en Seguridad, “Visualizing Marked Spatial and Origin-destination Point Patterns with Dynamically Linked Windows”.

Summary: We present dynamic linked graphs for exploratory analysis of spatial marked point processes data and give an introduction to our exploratory graphical analysis tool called MaP-PEA. The main application we have in mind is the analysis of data on car theft location and the eventual car retrieval location and on crime locations and their associated marks such as type of crime, or an indicator of how fast the police replied to the 911 call. Using linked windows brushing, MaPPEA provides an illustration of the structure and relationships between marks and locations of point patterns. The main features are the dynamically-changing local cumulative distribution function of univariate marks and conditional intensity surface of the destination locations corresponding to a selected origin location.
