Methodology established by the Councils for Fondecyt

As part of the evaluation process provided for in the rules of the Contest Regular FONDECYT 2010, the first step corresponded to a review of the aspects of capacity and productivity (of the) Researcher(a) Responsible and CoInvestigators(as), aspects that were rated using the categories: Outstanding, Very Good, Good and Insufficient and scores following:

Category Scoring Scale
Outstanding:

100 a 91 points

Very good:

90 a 76 points

Good:

75 a 50 points

Insufficient:

49 a 1 points

The procedure established by FONDECYT Councils for the points assigned to(to) Researcher(a) Responsible and co-investigator(a, is / as), is as follows:

1. Curricular background reported by(the) Researcher(a) Responsible, were transformed to numeric values, considering the weights and formulas used by the Study Group (www.fondecyt.cl, select Study Group) to which the project was assigned. With the scores so obtained was performed order from highest to lowest in each study group. Made this ordinance, those researchers(as) Managers who scored Insufficient not advance to the next stage.

2. For all study groups, curricular scores of(the) Researchers(a) Caregivers who were rated less than good were converted to a discrete scale in a range 50 a 100, with as many segments as the population of the Study Group projects with fewer evaluable projects. For the competition 2010, considered 17 segments.

Similarly, the average score Co-curricular research team was ordered and converted to a discrete scale in a range of 0 a 100. These scores were also converted to a discrete scale 17 segments, although in the range 0 a 100, since the history curriculum(the) co-researchers(as) are not grounds for removal of project evaluation process.

The mark obtained by the(the) Researcher(a) Responsabltheepresentó a 30% of the final of the proposal; the grade obtained by the average(the) coinvestigators(as) represented a 10%. In cases where there was no Researcher(this is), note(of the) Researcher(a) Responsible represented 40% of the final.
