Letter of Intent between Politecnico di Torino and the National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research [Convenio Politecnico 2006]

In a fine spirit of friendly relationship between the Politecnico di Torino, represented by its Rector Prof Francesco Profumo and the National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research (CONICYT), represented by its President, Dr. Eric Goles Chacc (both entities hereinafter to be referred to as “the parties”), agree in the following Letter of lntent.

In view of the already existing relations between the Politecnico di Torino and CONICYT.

With the intention of: Strengthen relations between the Parties Empower postgraduate training in benefit of both Parties.

The Parties agree to subscribe the following Letter of lntent, consisting of the following aspects, to be executed from 2006.

  • CONICYT will finance two doctorate fellowships for Chilean students, in order to undertake doctoral studies in ltaly. CONICYT will evaluate the possibility lo assign an additional scholarship in the specific sector of ICT in order to equalize Politecnico di Tonno offer.
  • The Politecnico di Torino will finance doctoral studies for another three Chilean scholars in this University. One of the three scholarship will be specifically financed by Istituto Superiore.
  • Mario Boella” in the framewok of the ALPIP projet and will be awarded in the specific sector of ICT.
  • This program will be implemented in Chile by the Department of Human Resources and Scholarship of CONICYT, which will have to define areas, eligibility, applicant’s evaluation mechanisms, and financing.
  • A Joint Commission. created to this effect, will be responsible for the implementation of this Agreement. The Chilean part will be co-ordinated by the Department of Human Resources and Scholarships, of CONICYT, with the participation of others, that are to be stated Italian counterpart will be the Politecnico di Torino, which will determine its participants.
